Texas Tech Red Raiders moving Kenny Williams to linebacker?

Early on in the 2013 season, the Texas Tech Red Raiders were one of the country’s most surprising teams, racing out to a 7-0 start before losing their final 5 regular season games (They did, however, go out with a bang, upsetting the Arizona State Sun Devils with relative ease 37-23 in the Holiday Bowl).

Although the Red Raiders focus on passing the ball under head coach Kliff Kingsbury, a former record-setting Red Raiders’ quarterback himself, they found some success running the ball.

Kenny Williams was the Red Raiders’ leading rusher last season, going for 497 yards and eight touchdowns on 125 carries and catching 30 passes for 264 yards and another touchdowns.

Despite that success, Williams is trying a new position this spring, according to Chris Level of Red Raider Sports.

It’s possible Williams is trying to put himself in the best possible position to get drafted after the 2014 season.

Or maybe he fancies himself as the next Myles Jack.
