JUCO PG Trey Dickerson commits to Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes earned a commitment from a player they hope can make an instant impact next season.

Junior College point guard Trey Dickerson gave his pledge to the Hawkeyes over the weekend.

Dickerson visited Iowa over the weekend and saw the Hawkeyes fall to the Illinois Illini 66-63 on Saturday.

He loved the visit according 24/7 Sports.

“I loved it, man,” he responded when asked what he thought of the atmosphere at Carver Hawkeye Arena. I then asked him if that was good for Iowa. “Yes sir, good impression,” he said.

Earlier in the day before the game, Dickerson had a chance to talk with Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery. “It was a great convo and I love coach Fran man, he’s real,” Dickerson said of the Hawkeyes’ coach.

Dickerson is considered the eighth best overall junior college prospect and the top junior college point guard, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Dickerson chose the Hawkeyes over offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Washington Huskies, among others.
