In the middle of his outing against the New York Mets, Kris Medlen threw a pitch and immediately walked off the mound. He had pitched 3.2 innings when he left the game.
This could be bad news for the Braves, as he was seen looking at his elbow as he departed and, according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, did not speak to the trainer as he went to the dugout.
Last season, the 28-year old was solid for Atlanta, going 15-12 over 31 starts, posting a 3.11 ERA. He pitched in a season high 197 innings and struck out 157, good for a 7.2 K/9. He is slated to be a free agent at the end of this year.
