Saturday Night Live: Jon Hamm gets awkward in SNL cameo

Tonight marks another episode of Saturday Night Live and we finally get to see if Lena Dunham has what it takes to exist in the world of comedy outside of the realm she’s created on the hit HBO show Girls. But while Dunham is the host and the focus, we’ve already seen two big time cameos in the first half-hour of the show.

First it was Liam Neeson making a cameo in the cold open and then it was Mad Men star Jon Hamm dropping by during a sketch called What Are You Even Doing Here? starring Dunham and Nasim Pedrad as middle school girls holding an awkward video live stream chat in their basement.

About half way though, Hamm was brought out as a guest and proceeded to play a version of himself that was extremely uncomfortable with being in the basement of a middle school girl.

This was a classic bizarro Saturday Night Live sketch and it was yet another cameo on the night. Hamm was dropping by to promote the upcoming season of Mad Men, which is the final season of the hit AMC series. We can probably expect Hamm as a host in the near future for such an event, but for now we will have to settle with him as just a cameo guest star.
