The first week of the Major League Soccer season has seen an upset here, a blowout there, and a few close results on the side. Real Salt Lake is at the top of the Power Rankings after a solid statement victory. Also, Chivas USA gets out of the cellar early with a big win themselves.

Movers, shakers, and other stuff. The MLS Power Rankings on the MLS Multiplex continue with Week 1.

1. Real Salt Lake

A Joao Plata goal in the 80th minute combined with some timely goalkeeping from Nick Rimando gave Jeff Cassar’s Real Salt Lake a 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. RSL return to action on Mar. 15 against the San Jose Earthquakes at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET and will be televised by MLS LIVE.
