I’m not sure what the lure of a $12.00 baseball is. I mean, sure, it’s pretty neat to try and catch a foul ball (or home run ball) while you’re sitting in your seats that comes your way. But to trample over people? To flip over a railing? That might be a little excessive.

And that’s probably how a father (I’m assuming here) is feeling today after he lost all sense of reality and decided to chase after a home run ball.

Now, normally they may not have been a big deal but he was sitting in the outfield grass which just so happened to be on a hill. To make matters worse, he was taking care of a young child in a wagon.

My 10th grade geometry class tells me that’s not a good combination.

The father, deciding he wanted that baseball (it was clearly a life or death situation) let go of the wagon, allowing it to roll down the hill in the process. Even worse? He didn’t even realize the wagon was rolling down the hill.

Thankfully he realized before anything worse happened and chased down the runaway wagon in time, but yeesh.

Insult to injury – he didn’t even get the ball.

So the Dad gets to the ball and saves the kid. Totally awesome double play. What’s the problem? Oh yeah, the wife probably doesn’t appreciate double plays.
