The Oakland Raiders have all but parted ways with former running back Darren McFadden, but the former first round pick is said to be drawing significant interest – this according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

"Some free-agent RBs not getting much play. But am told free-agent RB Darren McFadden has generated “significant interest.”"

Schefter doesn’t go on to elaborate as to what teams are showing interest in the running back, but we have heard rumors that the Cincinnati Bengals were keeping their eye on McFadden earlier this season.

The Bengals hired Hue Jackson (McFadden’s former offensive coordinator in Oakland) this offseason to be their OC, so the rumor made sense but with Giovanni Bernard in line to get 300 touches, it’s a bit of an odd fit.

Despite the ‘significant interest’, McFadden will likely face stiffer competition on the open market after the release of Darren Sproles as the two play a similar style of game.

McFadden, for all his talent, struggles to stay on the field as he constantly found himself sidelined as a member of the Raiders with injury which should reduce his asking price.
