NFL Free Agent Rumors: Larry Foote has no plans to retire after Steelers release

The Pittsburgh Steelers finally parted ways with longtime linebacker Larry Foote this past week, but the veteran has no plans to retire – this according to Josina Anderson.

Just got off the phone with LB Larry Foote. Foote told me he has no immediate plans to retire and he’d still like to play for a contender.

Soon to be 34, Foote missed the entire 2013 season due to a torn biceps muscle and it remains to be seen if he can still play at a respectable NFL level as he was already on the decline prior to his injury.

That said, it’s well within reason to believe there will be a team out there looking for a rotational backup/special teams player like Foote who will certainly come very cheaply.

There’s been no mention of any team who may have interest in Foote at this current moment, so it’s likely his market will develop once teams get a better picture of their 2014 rosters and know what positions they need to fill.
