NFL Free Agent Rumors: Redskins haven't expressed interest in Antonio Cromartie

The New York Jets released defensive back Antonio Cromartie on Sunday morning, a move that appeared almost shocking to the veteran defender.

Cromartie logged on to his Twitter account following the release and suggested that he could potentially return to the Jets at a lower price, but Jets insiders have suggested the organization is planning to move on from him.

If that’s the case, Cromartie shouldn’t struggle to find a deal (even with his lingering hip issue) but it may not be with the Washington Redskins.

Because some of you asked, #Redskins have NOT expressed interest in CB Antonio Cromartie.

The Redskins seemingly always have interest in name cornerbacks and that’s a bill Cromartie fits. But his once big game no longer matches his big name and the Redskins would be better off spending their money elsewhere.

Aqib Talib, Corey Graham and Captain Munnerlyn would all be better options for the Redskins, though, obviously far more pricey as well.

As for Cromartie, he will likely need to settle for a small deal moving forward as no team will be will to invest big money.
