NFL Rumors: Seattle Seahawks frontrunners to sign Michael Bennett

After hearing his name floated around in free agency rumors, especially when it came to the Chicago Bears, defensive end Michael Bennett may not be going anywhere after all. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seattle Seahawks have emerged s the favorites to land Michael Bennet and re-sign him to a new deal.

After standing out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, Bennett inked a one-year deal with the Seahawks last offseason and ran with his role on the team. As part of one of the best defenses in NFL history, Bennett carved out a nice new contract for himself but the question was who would be paying it.

Apparently that team will be the Seahawks, although nothing is imminent at the moment. Still, Seattle loved having Bennett on defense and it’s clear that he’s likely to return.
