We are just 27 days away from the biggest pay-per-view spectacular in all of Sports Entertainment, WrestleMania XXX. The “show of shows,” as it has been referred to as of late, will take place on Sunday, April 6th in New Orleans. Before all that takes place, we have four more episodes of Monday Night Raw to look forward to, including the one tonight. Let’s take a look at what we have in store for us tonight on Raw.
There has definitely been a lot of tension brewing between The Shield as of late. The once inseparable team has found themselves nipping at each other left and right. Things came to a boil when Seth Rollins walked out on their match on Raw last week, which ultimately ended with the Shield being defeated. At some point, they are either going to have to put their differences aside and become the indestructible team that they once were, or they are going to have to go their separate ways.
I have a distinct feeling by the time everything is said and done, there is going to be a pretty epic showdown between the members of the Shield. Do you think we could be looking at a 3-way match between Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns when WrestleMania rolls into Louisiana?
There are currently two matches already set for WrestleMania XXX; Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker and Randy Orton vs. Batista. Last week, Lesnar’s handler gave us a “pipe bomb” shoot much like the one that CM Punk delivered all that time ago when he rose up against the powers that be. This time, the shoot was directed not only at CM Punk, but at the people themselves. Heyman claims that it was the fans who took CM Punk from the WWE Universe.
One can’t help but wonder if Brock Lesnar has finally bitten off more than he can chew. The Undertaker has gone 21-0. He has won more WrestleMania matches than years some of his fans have been alive. The Phenom has been one of those unbeatable entities. Even the greats like Triple H, Ric Flair, King Kong Bundy, Edge, and even the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels have stepped into the ring with Taker hoping to break the streak, and none of them have been successful. What makes Lesnar think he is the one? What does he have up his sleeve?
One of the biggest ordeals heading into WrestleMania has been the match between Randy Orton and Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Fans have largely blamed Batista for everything that has happened with Daniel Bryan being pushed by the wayside, and the eventual departure of CM Punk. This has turned Batista into an instant heel. Things are not getting any better as the Animal continues to bait fans’ anger.
Randy Orton has his fair share of detractors as well. Some fans believe that he was “handed” the championship by the Authority. Maybe he was, but there is no denying that he is the current champion, and that makes him the man to beat. What will happen when these two come face to face at WrestleMania? Will Randy Orton’s championship reign continue, or will the Animal be in full control?
It will be a while until we get some real answers to these questions, but the road to the truth begins with this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
What do you expect to see in tonight’s episode? Do you think the Undertaker will have a response to Brock Lesnar’s latest round of assertions? What do you think is in store for the “Yes Movement” tonight? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
