As of last season the Denver Broncos still had a few holdovers from the disaster that was the Josh McDaniels era. That includes former first round pick Knowshon Moreno, who proved to be one of the team’s most valuable players in 2013.

Now a free agent, it appears that there are no talks between Moreno and the Broncos about a new contract. As such, the 26-year-old running back will test the market.

Per Vic Lombardi of CBS4 in Denver.

Despite talks last month that Moreno would look to re-sign in Denver, it makes sense for both parties if he signs elsewhere. The Broncos used a second round pick last year on Montee Ball and they presumably envision a bigger role for him moving forward. Moreno then gets a chance to cash in a big payday coming off the heels of a stellar season.
