Braves' Kris Medlen 'likely' to see Dr. James Andrews

The most recent news surrounding the projected Opening Day starter for the Atlanta Braves is that there is little news.

In a press conference, general manager Frank Wren provided what information he could. Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s David O’Brien provided some updates.

Needing to get a second opinion is somewhat hopeful news, although the mention of Dr. James Andrews’ name isn’t exactly cause for celebration. Medlen took himself out of a Spring Training game against the Mets after 3.2 innings and throwing two pitches during which he visibly grabs his arm in discomfort.

O’Brien also reports that Wren has asked about Ervin Santana in response to this and the discomfort reported by Brandon Beachy, but it was merely due diligence. He admitted his worry about the pitching injuries in his clubhouse.
