At the end of February, the details of the upcoming giant monster flick Godzilla came into view. One right after the other the details started to emerge. First was a clip of Godzilla’s mighty roar, followed by the release of the latest trailer for the film. Then, there was the cover of Empire Magazine which gave us our best look yet at the monster. Now, as SXSW gets kicked off in Austin, Texas, the people at Mondo have commissioned a poster for the film, which was designed by Phantom City Creative, which will be handed out at the festival.
Yahoo! Movies has brought us our first look at the poster, which shows the giant monster wreaking havoc through the city, leaving not much more than a pillar of smoke in his wake.
According to the Yahoo! Movies report, the poster will be handed out at a special screening of the original 1954 film being hosted by director Gareth Edwards, who will be responsible for bringing the latest installation in the franchise to the big screen.
Here is a look at the new art poster for the upcoming film Godzilla.
The new film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as Lieutenant Ford and his girlfriend Elle Brody. The duo can also be seen soon as the brother/sister dup of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Godzilla also stars Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Ken Wantanabe, Fifty Shades of Grey’s Victor Rasuk, Hawaii Five-O actor Richard T. Jones, and many more.
Godzilla is scheduled to be released in RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and conventional theaters on May 16, 2014.
