This year’s South by Southwest event is about to get a lot cooler thanks to two of the most well known musicians in the world. After they united for tour in 2012, rappers Kane West and Jay Z will be reuniting this week at the annual SXSW convention in Texas to kick off a series of concerts promoted by Samsung.
Jay Z has been in bed with Samsung before, but while the last collaboration saw him exclusively drop his album early for the company, this time around he’ll be bringing Kanye West along for the ride — as well as the fans lucky enough to get into the show.
For the first time since the twosome wrapped their Watch the Throne tour in 2012, rap royalty Kanye West and Jay Z will perform a full concert on Wednesday at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, headlining the first night of Samsung’s SXSW Concerts.
Jay Z and Kanye have collaborated before on more than just concerts, as both have contributed to each others albums in the past. It’s a great working relationship the two have and the duo make up a hip-hop fans dream team.
The tie-in to Samsung runs deeper than just promotion of the show, as the location of the concert is still unknown and those with Galaxy phones will be able to pick up wristbands for the show starting Tuesday morning so long as they have the app Milk Music downloaded on their phones.
