With the NFL Free Agency period officially opened up, the sweepstakes for the services of Chicago Bears QB Josh McCown is in full swing, and he already has a few visits lined up immediately in the form of the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets, with the Bucs up first.

All three of these teams are in need of a veteran presence under center, so this will be interesting to see how it plays out.

New Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith has already expressed his desire to have a vet at the helm as Mike Glennon progresses, and McCown might be a perfect fit.

Bill O’Brien in Houston could use McCown as well, especially if he takes a QB number one overall in the draft and wants to give him time to develop.

The Jets seem like the least likely option as they’re very interested in the services of Michael Vick, reportedly.
