The Washington Redskins have made their first move of the new season and have agreed to terms with free gent wide receiver Andre Roberts. While he’s not a home run signing for the Redskins, Roberts apparently showed enough flash while with the Arizona Cardinals to prompt Washington to get him off the market before it officially opens.

Everyone knew that Washington would be after a wide receiver, it’s just Roberts wasn’t a name that many thought the team would jump through a hoop to get. Hakeem Nicks and Eric Decker were more popular names and there’s still a chance they land in Washington.
Still, Roberts isn’t a bad signing as he’ll add speed to Jay Gruden’s offense and is a dangerous weapon for Robert Griffin III. The deal can’t be made official until this afternoon when free agency opens, but that’s when the deal is expected to be signed by Roberts.
