NFL Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers to pursue signing Alterraun Venrner

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be done with their expensive and short-lived Darrelle Revis experiment and are looking to trade or cut him by Wednesday. Free agency opens on Tuesday afternoon and many believe a Revis decision could come by then, as Adam Caplan of ESPN.com reports that Alterraun Verner is on the Bucs radar and will be so even more if Revis is moved.

Verner is the top cornerback on the market and is already drawing interest from teams like the Vikings, Giants and others. Tampa Bay gave up a first-round pick last year (one that turned out to be cornerback Dee Milliner) so moving Revis is a big decision.

But replacing him with Verner will help make the decision easier and will go a long way in keeping the fan base happy.

This sucks I liked having revis on the team I think it’s not fair to the fan base to take him away I don’t care who they say will replace him it’s not going to be good enough they should be wise and use revis and have him take the number one receivers out of the game and work the rest of your defense around that like its bullshit to cut him I’ll be so pissed if they do cause that will mean we gave up a high first round draft pick and a third round for nothing like wtf money should not be an issue what so ever if they cut revis then they would be hurting themselves so bad and the fan base all to save a buck seriously if Tampa cuts him or trades him for a little of nothing then I will go down there and start a riot

Agreed, but if they cut him it’s a 4th rounder. I only see this as a good move if they get a 1st and another pick 2nd or 3rd maybe

Yeah I know but were talking about the BUCS they’ll let him go for nothing cause that’s the type of stuff they do cause for some reason they just don’t want to be winners

You literally have no idea what you are talking about. Your lack of knowledge on this subject is mind boggling. If you think Love and crew are making these moves not to win, then we don’t need you as a fan.

Okay so losing a first round draft pick for a good player I know that’s not on lovie cause it wasn’t his move but the fact he let revis go for nothing he just took away the reward we had for the 1st round pick that’s so dumb and who did they pick up other than verner ? A linebacker who’s prob not going to make an impact and a couple other backups i understand what their trying to do but they should of atleast got value for revis I know their were teams that would have gave up a first round pick and pick up that contract cause he’s worth the money for the right team and also lovie gutting the offensive line was a mistake cause nicks stepped away from the game and now our qbs are gettin sacked left and right in preseason seriously they should have kept zuttah ( or however you spell his name I don’t remember ) cause he could play guard and center good and mike Williams was a good receiver and they traded him for a 6th rounder like really he was worth atleast a 3rd this is why I liked our old gm cause he knew how to get value for players and if it wasn’t for him we wouldn’t have all the good talent on this team that we have like McCoy Martin Jackson it’s not his fault the 2 guys that coached the team during his time were jokes who should have never been head coaches I really don’t like the new gm I like lovie but he’s made some boneheaded moves that I don’t like and he’s made some good moves that I do like
