Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll tweets out congratulations to Phil Jackson, prematurely

With the news that legendary NBA coach Phil Jackson may be returning to the league as a top executive with the New York Knicks, everyone is excited to see him back in the game in some fashion. That apparently includes Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, who on Tuesday tweeted out his congratulations to Jackson.

Well, even though Jackson hasn’t officially taken the job yet…

It was reported on Tuesday morning that the Knicks and Jackson are close to sealing the deal and that an announcement could come by the end of the week that the championship-winning coach will be returning to the place where he won two rings as a player.

But still, again, the fact remains that nothing is official yet and Carroll did indeed jump the gun on this one.

That is, unless he knows something that we don’t and he let the cat out of the bag a little prematurely.
