On Monday night, one of the scariest scenes we’ve ever witnessed at a sporting event took place when Rich Peverley collapsed on the Dallas Stars bench.
Peverley, who has dealt with an irregular heartbeat before was scheduled to undergo an atrial fibrillation ablation in the offseason to help with his condition, though the surgery will obviously be moved up after Peverley nearly passed away on the Stars bench.
Peverley was rushed into the team tunnel where emergency personal began working on saving his life, emergency personal that included a Dallas Stars season ticket holder.
How it all went down wasn’t talked about in detail, but during Wednesday’s press conference, Stars general manager Jim Nill noted that a season-ticket holder who just so happens to be a registered trauma nurse made their way from their seat to the tunnel and was one of the first people to assist Peverley.
As noted earlier today, Perverley has understandably been ruled out for the season. It has not been determined if he will be able to play again.
