This week, the always much-anticipated ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will get underway, and one of the favorites to walk away with the crown is the first-year member Syracuse Orange. After a long stint in the Big East, the Orange made the move to their new home this season, much to the dismay of Jim Boeheim, who on more than one occasion expressed his displeasure at having to play the conference tourney in Greensboro, NC rather than New York City.

That’s why, Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q in Greensboro decided to send this welcome message to Coach Boeheim, which is filled with about as much sarcasm as you can get.

"Welcome to Greensboro! Enjoy your visit and we know the city will be as warm and welcoming to you as it has been to us since the first day we opened our Greensboro location. A while back you uttered some reservation about the ACC Tournament being held in Greensboro, particularly because of a lack of restaurants compared to New York City. Fear not, Coach Boeheim! Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q would like to cordially invite you to dine with us at our Greensboro location on 4101 Fernhurst Way. Much like your heralded zone defense, our menu items can stifle any of New York City’s finest restaurant offerings.  Our signature Bar-B-Q pork rivals the seared foie gras in ham-hock broth served at Betony. Our succulent Brunswick Stew can stand toe-to-toe with the clam and oyster chowder served at Alder. Our freshly-cooked Fried Chicken can easily match the Fried Yardbird served at the Red Rooster. Good luck in the ACC Tournament and remember there will always be a table for you.Sincerely,Richard AveritteVice-President of OperationsSmithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q ®/SCNB Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q"

They even decided to reserve a table for the legendary coach.
