As far as the current rebuilding model goes for the Houston Astros, they face a tough decision almost as soon as a player stands to make legitimate big league money.
Enter 26-year-old catcher Jason Castro, who is under team control through 2016 yet he was already the subject of trade rumors this off-season. Any prospective trade partner would have had to pay a premium price given his age and the production he brings from the catcher position (.276/.350/.485 last season).
Houston ended up keeping Castro. As the team ramps up their spring action, Castro is showing signs of another productive season ahead. On Wednesday he went deep against the Nationals (video from MLB.com).
And a nice little helicopter bat twirl, to boot.
