The American Athletic Conference was one of the more exciting conferences in all of college basketball in 2013-14. It was so exciting that the regular season ended with a split champion, but now it’s time to crown a definitive one as the 2014 AAC Tournament is set to get underway.

After a long season, when it was all said and done, the Cincinnati Bearcats and Louisville Cardinals ended up sharing the regular season crown, splitting their regular season meetings with each other.

But, that doesn’t guarantee that it will be one of these two that walk away champs when it’s all over. There were some very talented teams in this conference this year including the Memphis Tigers, UConn Huskies, and of course, the Larry Brown led SMU Mustangs who were the unquestioned pleasant surprise of the conference this year.
