MLB Rumors: Brewers' Francisco Rodriguez injured after stepping on cactus

We’re plenty aware of #SochiProblems, but what about #ArizonaProblems?

That might be how the Milwaukee Brewers are feeling today after reliever Francisco Rodriguez inexplicably stepped on a cactus on Tuesday.

Francisco Rodriguez stepped on a cactus yesterday. First freak incident of camp. Status for tomorrow’s game unknown right now. #Brewers

The first question that comes to mind is why was Rodriguez outside without any protection on his feet? There’s really not any reason to have your shoes/cleats off if you’re doing something outside, no? It’s not like cactus are the only hazard around the Brewers training complex so you’d think Rodriguez would be wearing shoes at all times.

Thankfully it looks to be nothing more than a flesh wound as team doctors are attempting to pull the barbs out of his feet as we speak.

Rodriguez/cactus incident not a huge deal — working on pulling barbs out of his foot at this point.

Ouch.

Pretty sure that tops our list of annual weird Spring Training injuries for now.
