The New York Knicks have been flirting with the idea, but the pieces that needed to slide into place for Phil Jackson to be hired have apparently slid into place. According to NBA TV, the Knicks have officially hired Phil Jackson as their president of basketball operations.

Looks like Phil Jackson to the New York Knicks has been finalized. This should be fun.

The news comes as no surprise, as Jackson has basically been in the job since the weekend. According to the New York Post, Jackson actually agreed to the deal in private over the weekend and this week has been spent finalizing details.
With Jackson now officially in the Knicks front office, the expectations for the team are even higher than they were before, as the Zen Master is being viewed as a savior for the struggling organization.
Whether or not he can save the Knicks is uncertain, but Phil Jackson is going at least going to get a crack at further solidifying his NBA legacy.
