When free agency broke on Tuesday afternoon, the city of Buffalo was getting blasted by an epic winter storm – a storm that all but shutdown Buffalo International Airport.

Quite the inconvenience, yes, but it became a problem for the Buffalo Bills when they couldn’t get potential free agents to their offices.

The Bills were able to sign Chris Williams through the snow storm, but general manager Doug Whaley hinted that the weather likely caused an issue.

"“Today’s storm challenged us in terms of getting free agents in-and-out because teams like to get them in as soon as possible. It’s important to have plans for all scenarios. Today, we were prepared in dealing with this storm."

While they may have been ‘prepared’, Whaley wouldn’t have even mentioned the weather issues had he not wanted to make it known.

It’s kind of an odd story and not something you’d really think about, but in fairness, teams/agents/players move extremely quickly when free agency breaks and the Bills were literally left out in the cold.
