NFL Free Agent Rumors: John Elways says NFL free agency is like dating

Not only was John Elway a Hall of Fame quarterback, he’s always an eloquent speaker. Or at minimum, he’s fantastic when it comes to comparison quotes.

Elway was speaking to a local reporter today and when pressed about the free agency process, he gave the perfect answer, suggesting that NFL free agency is like stealing the girlfriend of another man.

"Elway, ” I view free agency like dating, if you didn’t want me to scoop them up then you have treated them better” #BroncosNation"

Elway does have a point – though I’m not sure I agree fully on the last part.

There’s no doubt, free agency is like stealing the girl from somebody else but I’m not so sure it’s because you didn’t treat them well as it is financial compensation.

So sure, maybe signing the player like ‘dating’ by stealing somebody’s girl, but they only picked you because you had the nice car and big bank account.

And judging by the coups the Broncos have had in free agency, they must really have a nice car and massive bank account.
