The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the talk of free agency in the NFC and are really only second to the Denver Broncos in terms of the most talked about team this offseason. One of the reasons they were the talk of free agency last offseason was their trading for Darrelle Revis and their near trading of Darrelle Revis this offseason has them right back int he spin cycle.
That second trade never happened, as Revis was cut but the Buccaneers nearly did trade Revis a few times. According to Tampa’s new general manager Jason Licht, the Bucs came close to trading Revis but the receiving teams didn’t feel comfortable with finalizing things.

We all sort of figured this would be the case, as Revis’ $16 million salary was very unattractive and he’ll come much cheaper in free agency. Still, the Bucs were working the phones right up to the end, they just weren’t able to convince anyone to overpay for Revis.
