With the launch just a few months away, the SEC Network is beginning to take shape and they went a little further on Wednesday with the announcement that the legendary Brent Musburger will be the lead announcer for football games, along with the fast-rising color analyst, Jesse Palmer.
According to a press release, both have signed new deals with ESPN for their new respective gigs.
Sports broadcasting legend Brent Musburger will be joined by college football analyst Jesse Palmer in the booth every Saturday on the SEC Network when it launches next fall. The Hall of Fame sportscaster and the former Florida quarterback have each reached an agreement with ESPN to be the lead college football game commentators on the new network. The pair will kick off the season with Texas A&M at South Carolina on the SEC Network Thursday, Aug. 28.
This is a huge get for the Network, especially with the addition of Musburger. Now the only question will be who will be tabbed to go alongside Kirk Herbstreit on the ABC broadcasts, as well as if anyone will take Palmer’s place on the Thursday night bill.
