2014 NFL Free Agency: Cleveland Browns sign Jim Dray

On Thursday, the Cleveland Browns agreed to terms with free agent tight end Jim Dray.

Dray was originally selected with 233rd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2010 draft by the Cardinals.

Dray wasn’t very productive as a receiver in his first year, catching just three passes for 47 yards, but he showed his ability as a blocker and earned playing time in all 16 games. Dray played in 10 games in 2011 and in 13 in 2012, but was again used primarily as a blocked and had just two grabs in each season.

2013 can probably be considered Dray’s “breakout season.” Dray played in all 16 games. He caught 26 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Although he is still considered more of a blocking tight end, he has proven his worth as a receiver.

Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
