2014 NFL Free Agency: Vance Walker visiting Kansas City Chiefs

Free agent defensive tackle Vance Walker is beginning to draw a lot of interest.

According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Walker is visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

Per Scott Blair of CSN California, the Oakland Raiders would like hang on to Walker and  have already made him an offer.

Walker was drafted with the 210th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. The former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket spent his first four seasons in Atlanta. He played in 10 games as a rookie and then played in all 48 games over the next three seasons, capping his Falcons’ career by making 32 tackles and 3.0 sacks in 2012.

Walker joined the Raiders last year and again played in all 16 games, posting a career-high 40 tackles and 3.0 sacks.

I don’t know much about this player but he sounds like he could contribute in a positive way. But, if Oakland has already made an offer I doubt the Chiefs can match or better it so it is just probably a wasted visit. He is testing the waters out there to see if he can get a better offer but it probably won’t be with the Chiefs. The Chiefs are bargain hunting and I doubt they can get this player for what they want to pay. This news is not even noteworthy.
