The Washington Redskins have hosted many visitors since free agency began on Tuesday, but have not been very active in terms of signing players.
That changed on Thursday when the Redskins announced the signing of Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive end Clifton Geathers.

Geathers was originally selected with the 186th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Things did not work out for the former South Carolina Gamecocks’ star and the Browns cut him before the season began. Both the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks picked up and released Geathers during the 2010 season. He then appeared in six games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2011, but was cut before the 2012 season began.
Geathers signed with the Colts and appeared in eight games. The Colts traded Geathers to the Philadelphia for fullback Stanley Havili after the 2012 season.
In 16 games for the Eagles last year, Geathers made 13 tackles.
