The Texas Tech Red Raiders got their second commitment in two days when 3-star center Justin Jamison gave his pledge to Tubby Smith’s club.
On Monday, 3-star junior college guard Devaugntah Williams committed to the Red Raiders.
The two players are teammates at Missouri State-West Plains.
“Tubby Smith, for one, he’s great,” Jamison told Landon Wright of 24/7 Sports. “He was there from Day 1 before the season started, he was out there watching me in Dallas. The first day, the first game, the first scrimmage at our little exhibition before the season – he came out three different times. They recruited me the best. I just had the strongest relationship with him.”
The 6’9, 260-pound Jamison told 24/7 Sports playing with Williams at Texas Tech will be “real special.”
Jamison is ranked as the fifth best junior college center prospect, the third best junior college player in the state of Missouri and the 34th best overall junior college prospect in the class of 2014, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Jamison chose the Red Raiders over offers from Dayton, Florida State, Kent State, Oregon and Pittsburgh, among others.
