As the free agency period moves on this offseason and the dominoes continue to fall, the stock for free agent cornerback Antonio Cromartie should continue to rise, and he’s taking advantage of that on Thursday by heading out to meet with the Arizona Cardinals.

After four seasons with the New York Jets, Cromartie was released this past week prior to the free agency period opening up, and could quickly become a hot commodity.

A potential move to Arizona would be intriguing in the sense that he would add veteran skill set to an already pretty good defensive unit. Plus, and even scarier to think about, this would put him opposite the man many consider to be the best corner in the game, Patrick Peterson.

We saw last season that the Cardinals aren’t all that far away from being a playoff contender. Were they not paired with the 49ers and Seahawks, their outcome may have been different.

Could putting Cromartie on the defense help get them over the hump?
