It was reported that the deal was done earlier this afternoon, but after negotiating into the night, the Buffalo Bills and linebacker Brandon Spikes have agreed to terms on a contract. The official word comes via John Warrow of the Associated Press.

The deal was originally reported to be done early by Bills writer Chris Trapasso, but apparently there were still details needing to be worked out before the team and player could finally put pen to paper. Spikes is expected to sign the deal in the AM along with running back Anthony Dixon, who just so happened to be in town for a visit with the team at the same time.

The contract will be, reportedly, for one season according to multiple sources.

The Bills will now boast a starting linebacker unit of Kiko Alonso, Brandon Spikes and Keith Rivers. Manny Lawson is expected to be used in a hybrid LB/DE role in new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz’s scheme.
