Miami Dolphins sign guard Shelley Smith

The Miami Dolphins have added another former St. Louis Ram today after adding veteran defensive back Cortland Finnegan.

According to Mike Klis on Twitter, the Dolphins and offensive guard Shelley Smith were able to reach an agreement on a two year deal worth $5.5 million with $1.5 million of it guaranteed.

The 27 year old former Ram will have an opportunity to compete for a starting job in Miami now that Richie Incognito and John Jerry are no longer with the organization. It has to be nice for both Finnegan and Smith to be on the same team once again, as they spent a couple years together in St. Louis.

Smith will provide some decent run blocking for the Dolphins, but needs to improve on his pass blocking. He has a lot to improve in that category.
