The Los Angeles Lakers suffered another embarrassing defeat on Thursday night, this time a 131-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After the game, Lakers’ power forward Pau Gasol, as he so often is, was asked about his future.
“A lot of factors will influence me going one place or staying here,” Gasol told Mike Bresnahan The Los Angeles Times on Thursday. “We’ll take everything into account.”
Gasol, much like star guard Kobe Bryant, isn’t happy with the way things have gone this year, but still has hopes for the future.
“I always want this organization to do great and to be cast in the best possible scenario,” Gasol said. “I hope everything works out well for the organization, for management, for ownership. I’m very appreciative, and if I continue to be here I would also want them to be in the best possible position.”
Several teams had interest in Gasol at the trade deadline, but no one wanted to give the Lakers any real assets. Once he’s a free agent and any team can sign him, he will likely be in even higher demand.
Gasol is averaging 17.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.5 blocks per game this season.
