The word on Brandon Browner appears hard to read, as there are reports that he’s agreed to a deal with the new England Patriots, but those reports seem to have been refuted by the one guy who would actually be in favor of a deal happening. Browner’s agent has gone on record as saying a sea i not in place with the Patriots.

While the report is being argued over, CBSSports.com insider Jason La Canfora is reporting that Browner will meet with the New Orleans Saints if he can’t reach a deal with the Washington Redskins while visiting there.

Saints fans might actually be a little bothered by this as it appears the team has money to throw at guys like Jairus Byrd and Brandon Browner, but can’t find money to keep Darren Sproles or extend Jimmy Graham.

Defense won a Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks though, as the cop-cat nature of the NFL means it’s not surprising to see even a prestigious club like the Saints adjust their strategy.
