With the departure of one of the best pass rushers in the league this week in DeMarcus Ware signing with the Denver Broncos after he was cut by the Dallas Cowboys, the men down in Big D are looking for a replacement to get after the quarterback. On the free agent market right now, there may be none better than former Chicago Bears DE Julius Peppers, who Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago is reporting is drawing some interest from Jerry Jones and crew.

After being due over $13 million, the Bears decided to cut ties with Peppers last week before the free agency period opened, and he can still be effective for the Cowboys, should they choose to go that route.

In 2013, Peppers finished up with 7 sacks, and it’s also notable that Peppers would be reunited with current Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli, should this move take place. Peppers enjoyed some of his best years under Marinelli, notching 30.5 sacks, which I’m sure Jerry Jones knows about.
