The Seattle Seahawks love their defense and they splurged on defensive lineman last offseason. While they added edge rushers in Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril, it appears their fetish for defensive lineman has moved to a more interior extent as defensive tackle Henry Melton is coming in for a this week.

According to Josina Anderson from ESPN, the free agent defensive tackle will be in Seattle on Friday and will meet with the Seahawks about possibly signing there.

Seattle already has a beefy defensive front, but they’re not afraid to continue adding to it. They’ve been losing pieces of their defense as well, so adding Melton could end up making up for lost players like Chris Clemons, Clinton McDonald or Red Braynt.

Melton was most recently visiting with the Minnesota Vikings, which means he’s leaving Winter Park without a contract but could end up hearing other offers and returning to Minnesota to sign one there.
