The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars have hosted the four-year veteran earlier this week and the New England Patriots have been viewed as a possible landing spot for the former third round pick out of SMU in the 2009 NFL draft.
The 49ers have been looking for a complement to Michael Crabtree and after Mario Manningham didn’t work out as planned last season and A.J. Jenkins was a first round draft bust, the team could give Colin Kaepernick a developing weapon to work with.
Sanders started a careeer-high 11 games last season and for the second year in a row played in all 16 games. He had 67 receptions for 740 yards and six touchdowns, all career-highs for the 5-11, 186-pound receiver.
