Although they signed former Buffalo Bills’ safety Jairus Byrd to a mega deal on the first day of free agency, the New Orleans Saints have been hit hard over the last few years in free agency and again had to part ways with several players this year in order to afford Bird and tight end Jimmy Graham.

Before free agency started, the team put the franchise tag on Graham.

The Saints still have holes to fill and may bring back one of their own to fill one spot.

The Saints are interested in bringing back offensive tackle Zach Strief.

Streif was originally selected by the Saints with the 210th overall pick in the seventh round of 2006 NFL Draft. After five years of being a back up, he finally became a starter in 2011.
