While there remains a rather solid chance that the Tennessee Titans simply cut running back Chris Johnson loose, some still believe that a trade is in the future and that’s the way the Titans marriage to their back will end.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that there is still an ‘outside chance’ that Tennessee is able to trade Johnson before having to cut him.
In week in which Bucs cut Revis, Bears cut Peppers and Cowboys cut Ware, Titans clinging to hope they can trade CJ. An outside chance still.

The Titans don’t have to cut Johnson, but that appears to be what they want to do. Dexter McCluster was brought in as a speed option who can play running back and Shonn Greene is looking at an increased role with Leon Washington backing him up.
Johnson is trade bait for the Titans but this may end the same way the Darrelle revise situation ended in Tampa Bay. There’s a market for Johnson, but teams may want to negotiate their own price with him rather than absorb the remainder of his bad contract with the Titans.
