Phil Jackson introduced as Knicks president at Tuesday press conference

The New York Knicks have been rumored to be closer and closer to finalizing a deal with Phil Jackson to make him the team’s president of basketball operations, but despite numerous rumors there was no official word.

Now we have the official word as the Knicks will announce the hiring of Jackson at a press conference on Tuesday at 11 am, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

ESPN’s Chris Broussard confirmed what Wojnarowski reported minutes earlier.

One of the first orders of business for the Zen Master is likely finding a successor to Mike Woodson who surely will not be brought back to coach the team next season and begin the recruiting pitch to pending free agent Carmelo Anthony.
