Washington Wizards’ John Wall fined $15,000
Washington Wizards’ point guard John Wall was not happy about the officiating in the Wizards’ 98-85 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats Wednesday night.
Wall was especially upset about being called for a foul on a three-point attempt by Bobcats’ point guard Kemba Walker during the fourth quarter.
“I ain’t touch him. All he did is scream,” Wall said via Philly.com. “Ref gave him a call all night because he was screaming . . . I think they made some unfortunate calls plenty of times.”
Wall also believed the calls were one-sided.
“Plenty of times I drove to the basket,” Wall explained. “I think I should have been to the line plenty more.”
After hearing what Wall had to say, the NBA fined Wall $15,000 for his comments about the officiating.
Wall has been fantastic in 2013. The former #1 overall pick is averaging 19.6 points, 8.7 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. He’s also topping his career shooting numbers, hitting 43.0% of his shots from the field, 33.9% of his three-point attempts and 81.9% of his free throws.
Wall’s Wizards are 33-31 and are a near lock to make the playoffs.
