2014 Pac-12 Tournament: UCLA Bruins claim conference crown with 75-71 win over Arizona

In his first season as head coach, Steve Alford has taken the UCLA Bruins all the way to the Pac-12 Tournament championship as they were able to hold off the top-seeded Arizona Wildcats in the final on Saturday, 75-71.

Kyle Anderson for the Bruins played one of the best games of his career, finishing the night with an astounding 21 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Both Norman Powell and Jordan Adams finished in double figures as well, dropping in 15 and 19 points respectively.

For Arizona, Aaron Gordon did all he could to keep the once top-ranked in the nation Wildcats in this one, finishing up with 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, but it was all to no avail in the end.

UCLA has captured their first Pac-12 Tournament crown since the 2008 season, and if there were any Alford doubters left, they certainly can’t be happy about this.

No one wants to see this Bruins team come next week, that’s for sure.
