Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon won’t be charged with careless driving after accident

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon will not be facing chargers for careless and reckless driving after being involved in a single-car accident Saturday morning. Police responded to an accident on I-295 in Jacksonville after a car spun out and wrecked.

The car belonged to Justin Blackmon, but he was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not involved. Because of this, no charges will be filed against Blackmon.

The cause of the wreck is believed to be a blown tire, although given that no charges were filed, Blackmon is not at fault for the accident.

According to the Florida Times-Union:

The Florida Highway Patrol report said Blackmon was not injured, was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not involved. … The report said Blackmon’s 2009 Denali was traveling south on I-295 when the right rear tire blew out – the car left the road and collided into a guard-rail.

With his run-ins with the law thanks to DUIs, many helped their breath over hearing Blackmon again mentioned in a traffic report. He didn’t do anything wrong this time which is both great to hear but sad to realize we’re excited that Blackmon wasn’t drunk behind the wheel.
