The Cleveland Browns were hoping that free agent running back Ben Tate would pass his physical with them on Saturday so they he could replace the free agent moniker he’s carrying with a Cleveland Browns one.
According to Ian Rapoport from NFL Network as well as ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that’s exactly what happened and Tate is now a member of the Cleveland Browns.

Tate has emerged from the shadow of Arian Foster in Houston, but he now needs to backup the hype surrounding him with an outstanding Browns career. Tate hasn’t carried the ball much in his career, but having tread on the tires isn’t always a good thing. Running backs have had tread before but have just spun out, and the Browns are hoping that doesn’t happen to Tate.
He did show flashes while in Houston and even though he hasn’t carried much, he has carried enough to be the starter in Cleveland.
The Browns are putting together a solid free agency period, but it all needs to come together on the field before they start getting pats on the back.
