NFL free agency can be a frustrating time for players who don’t get deals right away and have to wait for them to come. One such player who falls in this category is former Steelers safety Ryan Clark, who is starting to lose it thanks to his status as a free agent remaining a constant.
According to Mike Jones of The Washington Post, the Redskins and Clark are still talking, which means that a deal could end up being hammered out before the end of the weekend. He also note that Clark got a bit snippy with Redskins fans thanks to there being no contract from Washington despite extended talks.
Clark appeared to express frustration about the lack of a deal on Friday when he tweeted: “Redskins fans only following me if I’m going to be a Redskin can unfollow me for now! Still treating me the way they always have. Never know.”
Clark has really never been afraid to speak his mind, but alienating a fan base that you may be playing for is not the best idea. Of course winning changes everything, but Clark could be our first free agent to be motivated in 2014 by a team who didn’t sign him but wasn’t his original team.
