Before Steve Smith signed his three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, there was significant interest in the receiver from teams across the NFL. We all knew about the Patriots interest in Smith but three other teams showed an interest in him as well, but missed out thanks to the Ravens.
According to NFL scibe Lindsay Jones, the Charger, Seahawks and Redskins all had interest in Smith and likely reached out to him before he eventually signed in Baltimore.
Steve Smith said he had a visit scheduled with New England, an offer from San Diego and interest from Washington + Seattle.

Many believed that the Seahawks were a perfect for Smith, as he already plays like the Seahawks do and has an attitude that perfectly meshes with that of Pete Carroll’s team. The marriage made sense, but it will never happen thanks to the Ravens.
There’s an argument to me made that there’s no room for Smith on the Seahawks offense, but adding him and his swagger to that team, and getting Richard Sherman and Smith on the same roster would have been amazing to watch.
